Acceptance

Firefly is operated by LifePath (“we,” “us”). By using Firefly you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Firefly is free; there is no subscription, no billing, and no account to cancel.

What Firefly is — and is not

Firefly is a youth safety and self-advocacy tool: a private, encrypted journal with optional SOS alerting to trusted contacts. It is not a monitoring or surveillance product, and it is not legal, medical, or professional advice.

Firefly is not an emergency service. SOS alerts depend on the device, connectivity, and third-party email/SMS delivery, and are not guaranteed to arrive. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Young users and guardians

Firefly is designed for young people, and the vault belongs to the young person — not to a school, and not to a parent. A guardian can be invited to a companion view only by the vault owner sharing an invitation PIN, and the guardian never gets access to vault contents. Firefly operates as a student-directed service, not as a school official under FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g); see our Privacy & FERPA policy.

Your vault and your PIN

Your vault is protected by a PIN that only you know, and entries are encrypted on your device before they are stored. We cannot recover your content if you lose both your PIN and your recovery phrase. Keep your recovery phrase somewhere safe.

Acceptable use

You may not use Firefly for any unlawful purpose, to harass or harm others, or to submit false or misleading information intended to deceive another person, a school, an agency, or a court.

No warranty; limitation of liability

Firefly is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including undelivered alerts or unavailable service.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
